SWEDENS' SEASONAL VISA - 2020



If you are a citizen of a country outside of the EU/EEA or Switzerland and have been offered seasonal employment in Sweden by an employer who is established here, then you can get a seasonal work permit.​


Seasonal work is often undertaken within agriculture, forestry, the hotel and restaurant business, tour operators, tourism and booking services, landscape care and maintenance, support services for artistic activities, the operation of skiing facilities, the operation of golf courses, and amusement and theme parks. A seasonal work permit entitles you, as a citizen of a country outside of the EU/EEA or Switzerland, to travel, stay and work in Sweden for a certain period of time as a seasonal worker. You can get a seasonal work permit for a maximum of six months within a 12 month period. If you are going to be working for more than 90 days, you can get a residence and work permit for seasonal work. If you are going to be working for less than 90 days, you can get a work permit for seasonal work. Citizens of certain countries will also need a visa.


Workers from non-EU countries can also apply for the seasonal work visa.


Sweden needs workers for these seasonal jobs from many occupations such as:


support services for artistic activities

the operation of skiing facilities

the operation of golf courses

tourism and booking services

the hotel and restaurant business

tour operators amusement and theme parks.

agriculture,

forestry landscape care and maintenance and many more



Requirements for being granted a seasonal work permit


To be granted a seasonal work permit, you must hold a valid passport have been offered temporary employment as a seasonal worker by an employer who is established in Sweden have access to accommodation of a suitable standard have taken out or applied for a comprehensive health insurance policy that covers health and medical care in Sweden. The health insurance must be valid during your whole stay be able to demonstrate your qualifications to exercise the profession in question if the work concerns a regulated profession intend to leave Sweden when your permit expires.
